Making bread is an art. Just like decorating cookies or icing layer cakes it takes patience, but most of all it needs love.
If you don’t love making bread and if you start fearing the yeast, you have less chances to succeed.
Tell yourself you can do it and in few hours you’ll have a wonderful loaf of bread out of the oven.
I’ve been making bread for 3 years now and, you have to trust me on this, it’s not complicated.
After all basic bread has only 4 ingredients : flour, yeast, water and salt. Does it still sound scary?
If you’re making your own started it has only 3 but I prefer a yeasted bread vs a sour-dough bread.
Making your bread will not only save money but will make your house smell like the local bakery. Isn’t that an irresistible smell? Who can resist breaking a piece of freshly baked bread? My favorite is the heel. Mmm
Today I’m not going to give you a baking bread lesson (we leave that for another time). I’m just assuming since you’re here and follow my blog for a while you’re NOT scared of yeast.
Today we’ll be looking for inspiration.

I love baking bread but I have to admit that I do it by feel rather than all that percentage of hydration stuff. I’ll get bread lessons one day, I promise but until that time I’ll just follow recipes and have a play. Flour’s not too expensive so I can toss out what doesn’t work. Off to make some chive bread now.
