I’ve been on a dulce-de-leche kick lately.

I’ve swirled some into a Chocolate Dulce de Leche, brushed over an apple tart,  made thumbprint cookies, ate it straight from the can and to top everything I made this gorgeous Chocolate Layer Cake with Dulce de Leche Frosting.

This cake is probably the sweetest cake there is.

The chocolate cake is rich, moist with a small crumb.

The dulce-de-leche frosting is the sweetest thing on Earth. It’s dreamy.

And if the rich chocolate cake and dulce de leche frosting was not enough I topped the cake with more chocolate.

Melted butter and chocolate, left to thicken and pour over the top of the cake.

I’m telling you, this chocolate cake with dulce de leche frosting is your ticket to sugar-land.

I just about died when I saw this cake! Can I just eat the dulce de leche frosting with a spoon? It’s gorgeous! On another note..I planned to make something incredibly amazing for the #chocolateparty, but then life got in the way – SO, I linked up my chocolate floats :)

Good morning Lisa,
Life gets in the way all the time, sometimes I think that’s its own purpose to mess up with my schedule.
Unfortunately the cocktail didn’t meet “the rules” – it has to has both chocolate and apples. yours has raspberry or passion fruit. Sorry. Maybe you can join us in October starting Monday, we’ll do chocolate and pumpkin.

This recipe is great!! thank you for posting it!!

I’m argentinian and we use dulce de leche for everything…

There’s a type of dessert that we make here which is called “chocotorta” in which you use a thin layer of chocolate cookies , drench it in coffee, and cover it with a mix of dulce de leche and creme cheese. You repeat that 2 or 3 times and then cover the entire cake with the mix of dulce de leche and creme chesse. Finally, you take it to the fridge and that’s it!!! (kids love this recipe) I hope it’s useful!!! :D
