One year ago my 4 months baby girl had her first 2 front teeth. Now she has 8 teeth and 4 molars and I hope we’re going to take a break until new ones :)
Few weeks ago I had my first attempt in making teething oat bars and although they tasted good they couldn’t quite hold their shape. Some of you were kind and gave me some recipes you’ve tried. Thank you!
Yesterday I made this recipe and turned out perfect. Loved the addition of peanut butter and using honey instead of sugar. The recipe called for chocolate chips but since Tiffany doesn’t like chocolate (she only likes Nutella ) I substituted them with chopped almonds.
The finely shredded carrot makes them slightly moist. I baked them just 20 minutes and turned out perfect. Tiffany nibbled on one yesterday in the afternoon and on another one after her breakfast this morning. She LOVES them.
I put the rest in sandwich bags to prevent them from drying out.
I’m thinking next time to add maybe some pumpkin, sunflower or even some pine nuts seeds.
The recipe for these delicious granola bars belongs to Wendy.
Thank you Wendy for being my friend, for sharing your post full of wisdom, for showing us the happiness in the little things that some of us (including me) are too busy to notice. Thank you for reminding us to make a difference and for sharing your wonderful photos with us. Thank you for all the kind words you left on my blog. Thank You!
You can follow Wendy on Facebook.
Thank you all for reading, hope you’ll take the time and read Wendy’s blog.
As usual,
Roxana

The granola bars are looking perfect..they have the look of store bought ones but are packed with homemade goodness. Some of little bigger friends of my daughter have started to loose their milk teeths and now my daughter is eager to loose hers too :)

Glad you found a recipe that held together better!. My baby girl still doesn't have that many teeth, as 17 months. She does like granola bars, though, i may have to try these!

I love your granolas! I'm gonna make these for Ana! Her first tooth came out at 3 months… and we still have a couple more to go… I feel like she's never going to stop drooling and teething. I feel for them.

Thank you for this recipe! You have no idea how much money (and plastic) I'd save if I made my own snack bars.

I still haven't made my own granola bars–I don't really know why–but they would certainly be better to have around for snacks than the other stuff I buy. They look perfect!

Congrats on the Top 9! I've been trying to make my own granola bars (we call them muesli bars) too, and so far mine don't hold together that well. Will try this but might need to tweak the PB in it (nut free policy at kid's school).

Mmmmm, those look and sound fantastic. I love the addition of the carrot, which yes, would add moisture, but even more so, is so, so good for little ones (and us not so little ones too). Many thanks for showing us the fruit of your labor.

These may be great but they are not vegan if they include honey which is an animal (bee) product.
