I like to believe I’m not the only one that runs in the kitchen after stumbling upon an amazing recipe. (if I’m, be polite and tell me you do the same)
A while back I saw a recipe for some salty crackers, you know, those you can’t resist to buy at the store.
I loved the sound of a homemade version and without even thanking my friend for sharing the recipe I rushed in the kitchen, took everything I need out of the pantry and fridge and before I knew it my crackers were in the oven.
There are so easy to make. They call for ingredients you already have on hand : flour, sugar, salt, butter and milk. That’s all. No running at the store for that hard to find ingredients.
Oh, and to make them, it just can’t get any easier. The food processor does most of the work. The only work left for your hands is a little kneading at the end, just for a couple of minutes, don’t imagine you have to knead half an hour
First time I made them (yes, I made them twice, that’s how good they are) I skipped the pepper from the dough and half of the crackers were sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and the other half with sea salt and freshly ground pepper.
The second time I used grated Parmesan and a blend of dried herbs.
I liked the crackers with the Parmesan on top, they were the first one that disappeared in seconds. The ones with the herbs on top were good also, but I think I’d add the herbs to the dough, After baking most of the herbs fell
Which one of the four is my favorite? Hmm. hard question. I think I’ll have to experiment with other toppings before giving my final answer.
To get the complete recipe you have to visit my friend Jean’s blog (Thank you Jean)
That’s about it for today, hope you’re having lots of fun in the sun
Thanks for stopping by, with love,
Roxana

Roxana, you did the recipe great justice–both your versions look perfect, photographed so beautifully! I've been meaning to make a cheese/herb version but presented with the cinnamon ones also, I'd have a hard time choosing between the two.

Yes-when the inspiration hits you must take advantage of it! The best thing here is that you can go right to it without going to the grocery for special ingredients. These really look crispy and tasty! Also, they are a great item for gifting in this hot weather. Thanks for sharing
Hi Roxana, I love homemade crackers as much as you do. I've been making and experimenting with all sorts of toppings and ingredients. That's the fun part that you can customize them. Yours look so delicious that they are making me want to go bake a batch
Awesome. No wonder you made two batches. I reckon I could eat my weight in the savory ones…
Now i know why you're obsessed with crackers!! wow they look so good and nicely thin! I like the variation you've taken on. They sound delicious as their look!
I've never made crackers before, but it's worth a try, it seems!

I would definitely run into the kitchen for these! Just seeing those perfectly baked crackers with cinnamon topping is making me want to skip work and go home to make some!
I have the same recipe bookmarked! Your two versions look both amazing. Now I will have to bookmark this recipe twice
These look like a fantastic snack! Great idea to mix the herbs into the dough next time. And, making both a sweet and a savory version was good thinking too!
Beautiful! I have to say that I just love finding a recipe where I have all the ingredients already on hand. I am so much more likely to make it, even if I don't make it right then and there.
This is something I have yet to try and do but I want to
These look fantastic and I am sure they taste equally wonderful
Hugs and hope your having a great week…
These combinations sound awesome! I love sea salt and cracked black pepper chips…I would love these too!
I've never made crackers and when I saw these on Jean's site I knew that I wanted to make them – they sounded so easy and incredibly good! I still haven't gotten around to it… great job, the cinnamon/sugar ones look fantastic, too
I always have crackers at hand and those are some neat ones to try out. You have the right combo for both hubs and I, the savory one for me and the sweet cinnamon for him. The crisp presentation makes them all the more appealing. And ditto on running into the kitchen on finding a recipe I like… I would right now if it weren't this late at night.

this is absolutely beautiful, I love cracker but not the good on making it. I congratulate you for making this crispy cracker.
I love that you made two different kinds in one batch. Cinnamon sugar snackes like that are so delicious! They are a great pick me up in the mid-afternoon.
These are perfect looking wow you did a great job. My family would love these… going to have to visit Jean now~
Oooh, yum! Both flavours look great! And yes, sometimes I am so eager to make somethiing I've seen on a fellow blog, I throw my other plans out and make what i've just seen!
wow these look amazing
so cool your great in the kitchen
Homemade crackers are always such a treat and I love both your sweet and savory options.
I was just thinking of buying some crackers. You have changed my mind. I'm going to try these instead!
I've ran to the kitchen once or twice but I like to picture myself more like an animal storing for winter. I save my recipes in lists and folders plotting when to make what. I need to be more spontaneous from time to time and just to the kitchen – then I could be snacking on these tasty little crackers right now huh?
