Spring is here,
Spring is here,
It’s the best time of the year,
Spring is here,
Spring is here,
Spring is finally here!!
Oops, excuse me, that was from another story :)
Sunday it’s going to be the first day of Spring.
The warm weather makes me feel so good. This morning I enjoyed my tea on the front porch while telling Tiffany every other minute to watch her step :) )
We spent most of the morning outside. Felt so good. I almost forgot I had to cook something for lunch. Lucky my hubby was way too busy and skipped lunch.
Yesterday, between trying to figure out which light would go well with the new paint and how should the furniture be arranged I turned the oven on. Deja vu, right?
Having Spring in my mind my cookies turned into tulips, flowers and butterflies. It took me longer to glaze them, and as you can see are far from looking like the real thing, but I did my best.
As you probably know when glazing sugar cookies you have to let them dry well before packing into an air tight container to soften again. When I do that I usually leave them over night on the kitchen table. To my surprise, these morning they were soft. I was so happy I could enjoy them with my tea without cracking my teeth :) )
If you want the recipe for these soft cookies you’ll have to go to Gina’s blog.Sugar cookies

Gina is such a wonderful person. I wish she’d live close by so I could count on her every time I throw a party. Check out how the party for her sister turned out.
She’s also a wonderful cook and her posts always make me smile. Love the way she talks about her family and traditions.

And is case you did not know, soon she’s going to be writing from her new blog

Roxana, you did a wonderful job with the cookies; love how you turned then into spring flowers. Don't you love how soft they are? Thank you for your kind words; if you lived closer you would already be over. Or maybe I would have to go over there and have one of those cookies for breakfast. Have a great weekend.

Gorgeous cookies!

Where did you get the cutter to make the daisy/flower cookies?

I am looking for an asterisk shape to make some cookies for our business customers and can't seem to find anything suitable until I saw yours.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

@ libby – I bought from Michaels a set of 101 Wilton cookie cutters, mostly for the letters and animals. I saw at Wilton.com it's not available anymore, maybe you get lucky at stores like Michales/AC Moore.
