Sweet Potato Rolls

Internet is such a unique and wonderful world. I’m pretty sure most of us got to know at least one new person using chat boards and/or forums. 
Over the years I met and got to know wonderful people out there. 
On the other hand this online world had its downs. 
For the last couple of months I received several messages that made me raise my eyebrow.
If you read me for a while you know I’m not a big tweeter or facebooker (don’t think that’s a word). I simply don’t have the time to do that. I learned how to tweet after reading this post (Thanks Kim) and still don’t know how Facebook works. (I’d appreciate if someone took the time to explain it to me). 
Lately I received some messages, some from other twitters, some from fellow bloggers.
Most of the messages are about following and of course stop following. Is there a prize if you reach a certain amount of followers? I follow a handful of people and their blogs (even tho time doesn’t allow me to leave comments for every post) but never asked them to follow back. I read them because I WANT to not because I HAVE to.

Yesterday I received a weird email. A fellow blogger from France, whom I’ve never corresponded with,  was asking me to send a photo and more details about me since she’d like to know me better. 
Due to obvious security concerns my preference is not to send any photos and personal details to people I just met.
Oh yeah, I promised you some sweet potato rolls. 
I’ve been meaning to make these rolls for weeks, even ate the potatoes twice :) ) . Today finally the day came. 
 They look pretty, don’t they? 
Since we all slept in late today I didn’t start taking all the ingredients out of the fridge/pantry by 10.30. I used whole milk only, forgot to buy buttermilk.
With the recipe in front on me I started my proofing the yeast, mixing milk with potatoes, measure the flour and shortly after that all the ingredients were mixing together in my stand up mixer. Suddenly I hear my husband: Get ready, we’re going out for lunch. What ?!! I’m making bread !!!
With oiled hands took the sticky dough from the mixer’s bowl and placed it in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge to prevent it from raising before I was back home. 
Now, by the time we got ready, went out, enjoyed lunch in company of friends and return home my dough tripled in volume in the fridge. OMG!!
Punch it down, change clothes, shape rolls and pray.
I only made half of the recipe and divided it into 12 rolls, baked at 350F for 25 minutes. 
To everyone surprise they turned out so good. I wish I made the entire recipe. There’s always tomorrow, right?
I’ve made before potato bread but this is the first time I’m using sweet potatoes in bread. If you love making bread and like to try different recipes, try this one. You’re not going to feel sorry. It’s soft, fluffy, lightly sweet and the flavor of sweet potatoes is not overwhelming.

that IS a very odd request..
pictures and information seems a bit much..

well, you cant really EXPLAIN facebook,
but all i can say is , it IS very addicting,
its just a way to add friends, keep in touch , see pictures, comments..
its very public. Veryyyyy public, which might also be its down fall,
you can see comments posted between friends on your "home" not on your own personal profile.

anyway, try making a facebook, add your friends, search for them, and just fiddle around with it (:
there are games and stuff you can play on there too, i hear Farmville is very fun.. and addicting to play, although ive never tried..

anyway, all i can say is..
BEAUTIFUL SWEET POTATO ROLLS!
they looks so dainty and adorable.

Yup, weird request. I always trust my gut on that kind of stuff and er on the side of caution. Sometimes I think about removing my email from my blog just because of the amount of phishing emails I receive.

I remember the first time I got an odd email from someone (this was about 10 years ago…) They said I inherited millions from an uncle that owned an oil company overseas. You know where I am going with this. Thank goodness I never ever sent anything and the social security number plus bank account and mailing address request was what made me hesitate thankfully. I did believe it for about a day and I was racking my brain to think of how many brothers my parents had!

Anyway, the internet can be great but it's an easy avenue for creeps as well. As you know. :)

Ce bine te inteleg… si pe aici se practica: te urmaresc daca ma urmaresti. Nici eu nu inteleg rostul. Cat despre facebook … ai grija ce iti doresti. E addictive si iti mananca tot timpul.

Roxana!! I was SOOOOO excited when I was reading the blog of one of my friends and I saw your Spring Sugar Cookies Post at the top on the Foodbuzz add!!!! Congratulations:-D I am thrilled for you. The picture looked gorgeous with the bright color cookie and flower!

I am sure you already know this, but a big NO on someone wanting anything personal from you!
These are wonderful rolls and seriously adorable! Dionne is getting serious on the bread front and this is a lovely recipe, they look amazing!

I agree with every word you said before the bread.
I still don't understand twitter, tried using it for a while but gave it up, thought I was the only one.
Regarding the bread… oh… so delicious looking! Yeah, certainly that rise in the fridge made the difference! They look great!

I know what you mean about the internet! I do have FB and that's just because I want to keep in touch with my friends. But I know people who gets irritated if you don't comment on their pics and would literally ask you do that :D how silly is that ?! As for twitter .. i created my account about a month back and I still don't know how it works :D I just update my recent posts and at times communicate with some blogger friend :)
These rolls looks so yummy and perfectly baked!
PS: no matter how much you trust someone.. do not ever send your pic to them until and unless you met them and know them well enough!

these rolls look so wonderful…went and bought cake, bread, tart tins like crazy as we're leaving station and we get stuff cheap here…

Well the rolls look spectacular! As for the creepy emails… That's odd… I don't share personal info like that either, and have only once so far received a weird email request that appears to be spam. Hope the creepiness stops for you!

vad ca te-ai specializat pe aluaturi ! faci niste lucruri minunate ! cat despre facebook,eu n-as putea spune ca sunt fana,nici nu-l inteleg prea bine,pentru ca n-am doza necesara de exchibitionism, dar am constatat ca daca ai a te plange de cineva,persoana publica sa zic,functioneaza mult mai bine decat cu e-mailuri ,care de multe ori sunt ignorate.

there really isn't much to explain about facebook. you just sign up and add your friends and then you can keep in touch that way. plus you see in the main feed what's going on with your friends. and then you can also link your tweets to the facebook. some people also have a facebook fan page of their blog and that's a good thing to do to get more readers to your blog… i haven't done that yet though.

one thing that i'm trying to do is have this monthly linky party. the one that i do is specific for sweet rolls.
